The best time to visit Koh Mak is from November to March, because of the cloudless blue skies and nice warm temperatures.

From March to May it can be very hot and this is also referred to as the “hot season”. This period falls between 2 monsoons and since it doesn’t rain, it’s still a good time to visit Koh Mak if you can handle the heat.

The rainy season starts in June and can last all the way to October. The rain is brought by the southwest monsoon from the Indian Ocean. This does not mean it rains everyday and there can also be sunshine during this period. The heavy rain showers usually only last from 30 min to 1 hour but the rain comes fast and plentiful.
